I love shirt dresses, but every time I put one on I feel dowdy, and I have no idea why. They are a completely classic garment, and create a very strong outfit.
My solution was to hack off about 10 inches on the hem, and that's exactly what I did.
I paired it with some thigh highs, and 70s t-straps to make it feel a little more retro.
Thrifted black shirt dress, gray thigh highs from kohls, vintage 1970s purse and T-straps.

Oh yes, I too adore shirt dresses. My black one, the one responsible for my love of dresses, is on it's last legs I am afraid. I will wear it until I can no longer do so, because I love it so!
