DIY: Make your own animal brooch
As mentioned in this post, I promised a tutorial on how to make the easiest animal brooches in the world. I honestly don't even need to give instructions, its that simple. I've been making a ton because they are so fun!
Step one: Get some gold spray paint! I used this stuff, it worked very well.
Step two: Get some plastic animals! (You're saying to yourself, OF COURSE.) Craft stores, thrift stores, and younger siblings should be able to supply this crucial part of the project.
Step three: Spray them with paint, both sides, let one side dry before you flip it over to paint the other.
Step four: Glue on a pin back. I used an epoxy because that stuff can hold anything together.
There you have it! You can make as many pins as your heart desires, and I think they would make pretty cute little christmas gifts too.
Please share photos if you make any! And e-mail me if you have any questions.

ReplyDeleteAbsolutely! I was thinking maybe using my dremel tool and setting some stones in there for color! Nothing expensive of course, but that crab needs a fake jewel in his shell I think.
